Before you go...

Here's some things to keep you comfortable:
  • Dress warmly, in layers. It can get a little cold at night, and you'll appreciate being able to take an item or two off when the DJs get cooking. Also, there's a stream nearby that may be fit for swimming in the morning.
  • Bring fire wood. We'll have a fire ring for building campfires, you can pitch in.
  • Bring cups and snacks. We'll be serving Hot Cider and we'll only have candy to eat, but we won't have an endless supply . If you have special needs, or need a Red Bull to get home, we suggest you bring it.
  • Bring a tent. If you're the type who dances sooo much that an hour drive home is simply not an option, bring some camp gear to sleep it off.
Here's stuff about the land:
  • This party will be on forest land. It will be legal unless we get a LOT of cars, then there may be an issue with land over-use. All they can do is ask us to disperse. It's legal to show up to camp. It's also legal to carpool...
  • No one is getting "charged" for this party. That's a different legal issue, one we don't wish to get into. We are raising money for the MFS and Songdog, thus we "request donations."
  • Yes, there are campfire rings, toilets, and parking spots. This does not mean there is a Yenta behind every tree to clean up after you. Pick up after yourself and pack it out.
  • Just in case, don't talk about the party at any stop after you leave the highway. It may draw attention.
Here's stuff about the party:
  • This is a costume party. Half hearted attempts are more welcome than nothing at all, though nothing at all would get chilly quick. And please, no psycho killers a la Addams family.
  • If you can't bring money, bring hugs or lights or fire extinguishers or cider, or anything to make the party better. Carpool with people who have money... :)
  • If you have money, bring hugs or lights or a shovel or drums or something to make the party better. Carpool.
  • We've targeted some pretty groovy people from a couple of different groups. If you don't know someone, just offer a hug, you may get one back.
And, finally, a little hippie philosophy:
  • Be excellent to each other. Respect breeds respect. Kindness breeds friendship.
  • You are responsible for your own actions: be safe, clean up, sleep, ask for help if you need it.
  • Own your feelings: if you want to howl, howl. If you like someone, say it. If you need some space, take it.
  • Party on. Try to keep the future in mind in everything you do, so that you and others can party on and on and on...
